Dr.
Christine Laurell is an environmental health reseacher and educator
who has done pioneering work investigating the role of environmental neurotoxins
and inadequate nutrition in the development of learning and behavioural problems
in school-age children, specifically those deemed to have Attention Deficit
Hyperactivity Disorder. She brings over 20 years of teaching and working with
children as well as studies in herbology and holistic nutrition to her current
practice and research, and is committed to non-drug based approaches to dealing
with childhood disorders.
Dr.
Laurell is Program Director at the Canadian Center for Functional
Medicine where she conducts clinical and school-based programs,
as well as research. She holds a Ph.D. in environmental education and a post-graduate
diploma from the University of Calgary, as well as a Master of Science from
the University of Alberta, and undergraduate degrees in arts and
special education from Acadia University, Nova Scotia, and the Université de Lausanne, Switzerland.
She has taught at the Université de Haute-Normandie, France, Fukushima
University, Japan, the University of Alberta, and the University of Calgary,
Alberta, Canada. |
